The Senior Female of Dénia Básquet leads the classification

13 December 2021 - 13: 18

The Senior Female Preferred team carried out a difficult commitment against Oliva in the Joan Fuster pavilion (72-49), in a match more even than reflected in the final score. The first part was very competitive, with an excellent level of play by both teams on the track. The intensity of the visitors led them to trace a first getaway of those of Juan Luis Pérez, getting ahead on the scoreboard midway through the second quarter.

The increased defensive pressure of ours in the second half and a greater balance in the contribution of the whole team, were key to maintaining the rhythm during the forty minutes, reaching a point where Oliva could not follow us although the numbers did not drop. arms in no time, making the match worthwhile until the final horn sounded.

The girls will close this first phase of the league in Pego this coming weekend, after the Christmas, begin their participation in the autonomous ascent phase.

Senior Male 1st Division

In Senior Male category 1st National Division, Dénia Básquet He gave up his first home loss of the season to a good Jorge Juan de Novelda (62-73).

From the beginning the visiting team made it clear that they wanted to impose their rhythm of play on the match and in fact they succeeded, generating the first advantages in their favor in the course of a first quarter in which Bernardo Sanz's men did not finish starting.

On the basis of defense, we managed to stop the good dynamics of our rival and keep on his guard, although we were always behind on the scoreboard until half-time when we arrived with a seven-point disadvantage.

The reaction would come in the second part. In a good third quarter we managed to equalize the game by being able to maintain the tension in defense that our rival required, and start to function much better in attack where we now managed to generate many more advantages that we knew how to take advantage of.

But our rival showed his solidity by adding good actions in both parts of the field at the key moment of the last period, with which he obtained a small difference that would end up being decisive.

We were not fortunate in the last attempt to reverse the situation, and against the distances resulting from the risks taken, they were extended until we reached the final result.

The defeat is only a stumbling block as the team continues on its way towards the priority objective, which is to maintain the category without the suffering of the previous year.

The rest of the day's results also allow us to continue dreaming of reaching one of the four places that give this group access to the promotion phase to the EBA League, which is an extra motivation for our young team and proof of their progress in these last two seasons.

For this, the next commitments to face before the Christmas break will be essential.

This next Sunday the team will visit Ontinyent, leader of the classification, from the EBA category that lost last season, and will play on Wednesday 22 at Joan Fuster one of the two games that it has postponed, against another rival from the upper part of the classification as it is Altea, a firm candidate to occupy one of those privileged positions at the end of the regular league.

Senior Male Preferred

The Preferred Senior Male team visited the Alginet court (76-64), another of the teams at the top of the table, and did so aware of the difficulty but with the desire to get even with the bad game played the previous week.

The attitude on the court was adequate from the beginning despite seeing how the locals distanced themselves on the scoreboard thanks to the numerous opportunities offered by their offensive rebound.

Keeping our heads high all the time allowed us to take advantage of the opportune moment to cut the gap, to the point of reaching the last quarter with many options to take the game.

But seeing us close and running out of time led us to take greater risks in the final moments, which caused the final difference to be larger than it deserved.

Carlos Vila's men will play this Saturday at Joan Fuster against Jesuits Valencia, a team that is at the bottom and before which they must ensure a victory that does not take them out of the temperate zone of the classification.

Junior Male Preferred

Defeat last Wednesday of the Preferred Junior Male team in Enguera (69-52) in a well-contested match in which we lacked response to react in the moments when it was required. Dianense team started badly, receiving an 8-0 start that later recovered. But in the second period, history repeated itself, already going behind on the scoreboard until the end of the match.

Even so, he continued fighting, reaching the end of the last period still with options that we missed by failing easy baskets, allowing the locals to close the game by punishing us on the counterattack by knowing how to take advantage of our mistakes.

On Sunday the Junior Male Preferred team met again, this time in Joan Fuster, to receive Picken Claret Azul, a team from the middle of the table that in a great match those of Rubén Velázquez managed to defeat (75-74). Exciting match that was decided in the last seconds with a free kick scored.

We started the first quarter very well, running the counterattack well to dominate the scoreboard. Already in the second our rival began to feel the pulse of the match and approached us, but with good actions we maintained the advantage when we reached the break.

Claret went on to dominate in the second half by coming out with more intensity and playing with speed, being more direct to the basket.

The Dianenses did not lose face to the game and despite entering four points below in a last minute that was a game of chess from the benches, it ended up taking a victory that greatly strengthens the confidence of the group, and shows once again so much that the work they are doing is more than correct, as they can compete with anyone in this category.

This week they will travel to Alginet to face an important match since in case of winning, they would approach the quiet zone of the classification.
