The CBDénia female Senior, group champion and will fight for the regional title

12 2022 April - 23: 22

The Senior Women's Preferred team played this weekend its last two games of the Preferred Championship. The victories achieved in both matches assure them the first place in Group G and the pass to the playoffs for the title of the category at regional level, which will begin on April 30.

16 teams, the nine group champions and the seven best runners-up, will then access the round of XNUMX, which will be played by the Cup system, with two-leg games scheduled within the same weekend.

The next two weeks will be the turn of the quarterfinals and the semifinals that have also been scheduled by the same competition system, with the grand final scheduled for May 22, a single match at a venue yet to be determined.

The team has accumulated 22 wins in the 26 official matches it has played since the beginning of the season. He reached the semifinals of the Lliga Valenciana, then led his group in the initial phase of levels without defeat, and now he will compete for the regional title as leader of his group in the preferred championship, with the aim of rounding off this great season.

The Preferred Women's Senior won Friday over CB Pego in a postponed match played in Joan Fuster's pavilion (60-34). A good start to the match gave the players from Juan Luis Pérez enough advantage to face the rest of the crash with comfort.

The constant dedication of the visitors prevented the game from being broken, making the advantage stabilize at fifteen points when they reached the break (31-16). The second part was very similar, with Denia Basketball always taking the initiative and CB Pego pulling with pride to prevent us from moving away on the scoreboard, always giving an excellent image.

All the players had minutes on the pitch and showed the ambition with which they reach this end of the course.

The next day, the girls from the Preferential Women's Senior returned to play, this time visiting the Ondara field, a team against which a very serious match was played (30-73), with which the second phase of the season was closed.

The locals are probably the team with the greatest progress throughout this season, and they required Juan Luis Pérez's team to enter the match with maximum concentration in order to beat them.

The Dianenses knew how to control the rebound throughout the match and were very quick on the counterattack. They also had an excellent day in the outside shot with which they dismantled the entire approach proposed by the locals to complicate things for us.

With this consistent victory, the sole leadership of the classification was mathematically guaranteed, and the pass to the qualifying rounds for the title in which our girls will fight to play a great role.

Denia Basketball Sum 1st National

Denia Basquet Suma 1º Nacional beat CD Onil (74-68) on the second day of the permanence phase, and is closer to mathematically ensuring its continuity in the category.

The game was very competitive and showed the best face of both teams, knowing its importance. If for Bernardo Sanz's men it was almost forced to prevail at home to avoid complications, for Onil victory could mean having a foot and a half in salvation.

The two contenders started the match very successful and agreed to play at a high pace of play. Little by little, the defenses prevailed, both benches trying to take the game to the ground that was most convenient for them. In the pulse, the greatest success of Denia Basketball gave him the first advantages that would reach nine points at halftime (41-32).

Ours knew how to maintain their advantage throughout the second half. Although it is true that they had it in their hands to break the game on more than one occasion, it is no less true that the visitors always reacted in time, managing to stay close to the scoreboard when the end of the match came.

In the last two minutes, Onil did the rest and further compressed the result, but Denia Basquet used consistency to solve the situation and distance himself enough not to suffer in the final stages of the match.

After next week's break due to the Easter holidays, the team will visit Xàtiva where they will have their first opportunity to definitively sentence salvation if they win.

Senior Male Preferred

The Senior Men's Preferred team caressed a momentous victory against Picanya Basketball (71-76) that ended up escaping in the last stages of the match.

Great start to the match by Carlos Vila's team, with firmness in defense and quick transitions, which made us believe that we were going to be able to fight for a more than valuable victory that would give us wings to achieve permanence in the category.

But little by little our percentages went down and the visitors, after equalizing the score at the end of the first quarter, went into the break with a six-point lead (37-43).

The dynamic seemed to change in our favor in the third, which we began with the slogan of protecting our hoop against his constant penetrations. Our success allowed us to regain control of the match in the blink of an eye.

After a few minutes with the game very open in which none seemed to be able to take a step forward, the last and final period was drawn with a draw (47-47). The greater security of the Valencians at key moments was decisive in playing an end game that was reached on an equal footing.

The slight advantage they achieved with three minutes remaining was enough to end up imposing themselves, thus complicating the end of the season a lot.

The three games remaining to finish the league will be decisive for the fate of the team. Although we no longer depend on ourselves to maintain the category, we are convinced that our boys will not have to try until the last second of the competition.

Regret the injury of Marc Muñoz who in a fortuitous crash suffered an injury to the bones of his nose, and we wish him a quick and perfect recovery.

Junior Female Preferred

The Preferred Junior Women's team had to play two games this weekend, both in Denia, against El Pilar de Valencia and Logos Sedaví.

Due to various problems, El Pilar announced on Friday that he would not play the match, thus informing the FBCV, thus assuming the corresponding sanction.

It would therefore be on Sunday when Juan Luis Pérez's players were able to compete, facing Logos Sedaví in Joan Fuster, whom they beat (74-55) in a match with two very different faces.

We started the game too relaxed and the visitors were responsible for waking us up forcing us to make many mistakes as a result of their defensive pressure on the entire court.

Little by little, the team focused and began to be recognizable, obtaining a small advantage at halftime (35-29) that laid the foundations for victory.

At full capacity, the team had an excellent second half without giving their rival options. The increase in defensive intensity, control of the rebound, quick counterattacks and the better percentage now in shooting, made the distance on the scoreboard grow progressively until the end.

After the Easter break, the last two games remaining in this second phase will arrive on April 23 and 24, with the aim of achieving the third final place in Group B.

Two of the third classified of the three groups of the category will access the eliminatory rounds for the title of regional champions of Preferred.

Junior Male Preferred

The Preferred Junior Male team achieved a very important victory in its displacement to Oliva (40-65) and reaches the end of the league with many options to achieve permanence.

Good team game especially the defensive aspect. The constant pressure on the passing lane caused the locals to lose many balls that Rubén Velázquez's men turned into simple baskets, gradually increasing the advantage in the first half.

The good decision-making from the inside game, the hardness in the rebound and the success in the outside shot left a hard-working CB Oliva who always tried until the end without an answer.

Important victory that takes us even further away from the bottom of the table and forces the teams that are chasing us to make a perfect league finish to beat us in the standings.

However, we are not mathematically safe, so we will have to continue working along the lines that we have been doing to finish fulfilling the objective pursued in the three games that remain to be played.
