The port of Denia proposals put on the table for the Maritime Station

February 21 from 2012 - 00: 00

With the imminent opening of the new Maritime station of Dénia, scheduled for Easter this year, the Advisory Board of the Port of Dénia has met to analyze the possibilities of the Station, operated by the company Puerto Natura, belonging to the shipping group Baleària.

The strongest bets are to use the station as a service point for cruise tourism and for companies dedicated to the transport of goods and nautical-sports activity. To achieve this, the Board will once again be in contact with different shipping companies dedicated to the cruise to make Dénia one of its stops and help "to the economic and labor dynamization of the whole region", said Gabril Martínez, president of the Advisory Board.

On the other hand, the Bureau agrees to adjust operating costs through optimizing the prices of electricity and drinking water, so that "place our port on equal terms with other nearby ports and businesses in the area", in addition to creating periodic reports that reflect the labor and economic activity of the port so that the entire region knows the relevance of the port for the economy of the Marina Alta.

Finally, the possibility of incorporating other agents who have a great weight and tradition in the port, such as the Red Cross of the Sea, the Maritime Training Center and the Local Administration, is also contemplated.
