The Socialists of Dénia have urged the mayor to coordinate "urgently" with the Generalitat to maintain this active office in Dénia, since, as the councilor explains Paco Roselló, "The new Law of Rationalization and Sustainability of the Local Administration eliminates the competition of users and consumers from the list of subjects of the municipalities, although they may always be exercised by the Autonomous Community to delegate the powers".
According Roselló explained, "The Town Halls that wish to continue exercising the competences, which in the matter of consumers and users had been carrying out, through OMIC, may require the Autonomous Community to delegate such powers, under the terms established by law, or promote a file to justify that the exercise of competition does not jeopardize the budgetary sustainability of the municipal treasury as a whole ".
For the councilor Elena Tur, "Without this municipal service, citizens are completely defenseless of the abuses in which some companies have been installed that, with the excuse of the crisis, violate the rights of consumers day after day."
