The plenary session of Dénia, at the request of the Socialist Party, unanimously approved yesterday the creation of a municipal registry of empty homes, as well as a registry of social housing applicants to fight against the problem of housing in the city.
The purpose of this motion is to collect housing from public assets, both municipal and autonomous, houses of banking entities and entities of their business groups, as well as those that were built obtaining qualified financing and / or direct financial assistance, using some kind of Subsidy either autonomous or state.
It also intends to have an exhaustive control of substandard housing, "avoiding possible cases of shanty towns, homeless people or situations in which diverse families live crammed in a single dwelling, as well as immediately facilitating the access of these families to those services and / or social aids that they may need in order to avoid social exclusion, with special attention to minors. "
As explained in the motion, all this is requested to "facilitate access to a social rent by people and families affected by a judicial foreclosure procedure of their habitual residence with the credit institution with which they signed the public deed of mortgage".
