The Fire Department of Dénia coordinates with the municipalities of the region in the face of the risk of existing floods

After the decree, by the Emergency Coordination Center of the Valencian Community, of the alert for significant risks of rain in the area of ​​the Marina Alta, the head of the Dénia Regional Fire Department, Javier Fayos, has contacted different municipalities in the region in order to be prepared in case of heavy rain.

Specifically, he has contacted the heads of the Local Police and Civil Protection of Dénia, Xàbia, Ondara, Els Poblets, El Verger and Beniarbeig for the activation of the Municipal Plan before the Flood Hazard.

In the event that it becomes necessary due to heavy rains, the location of the backhoes will be coordinated and the roadblocks will be organized in order to facilitate the work.

The Emergency Coordination Center warns of a situation of general instability with risk of rain and yellow storms in much of the Valencian Community planned for the next few days, with the possibility that, between Saturday 8 day and the Monday, September 10, there will be a worsening of the weather, with showers and storms that will probably be strong and even very strong or persistent and locally hail.

Advice to the population

  • When a pre-emergency is notified, try to be informed of the evolution of the situation through the media.
  • Get away from the banks of rivers and ravines and do not stay on bridges.
  • Find out about the situation before starting a trip. It travels preferably through main roads and highways. Use the vehicle only if it is essential.
  • Never try to cross a ford or a flooded place.
  • Remove vehicles from areas that may flood.
