The new Dénia cleaning and garbage collection service arrives loaded with news

26 July 2022 - 12: 30

On July 1, what will be the Dénia's new cleaning fleet over the next decade. This new garbage contract comes again from the hand of Urbaser, and brings with it many novelties, all of them with the same objective: to keep the city of Dénia clean 24 hours a day.

This contract represents a great change in the cleaning and waste management service in Dénia. It has important novelties that will be applied gradually, such as its door-to-door collection service, the new role of environmental educators or the expansion of the workforce, almost doubling in high season.

new containers

In this new contract, new containers with greater capacity will be installed throughout the city, anchored to a rail instead of wheels, thus preventing them from moving and keeping them fixed.

The old containers have a total of between 800 and 2.400 liters of capacity; With this new service they will have 3.000 liters.

In addition, they will also be more accessible for people with mobility difficulties and will be located on one side or the other of the street, thanks to the bilateral loading trucks.

As regards the waste collection, we also find significant novelties, since the collection schedules will be extended and new waste will be treated, such as clothing, household goods, oil, glass, diapers and underpads and it will adapt to the schedules of the HORECA channel.

With these changes, the residents of Dénia will be able to carry out the task of recycling in a simple way. Until now, there were 7 daily waste collection routes, but with the new service they will become the double: a total of Ruta 14.

In addition, in areas with the service Door-to-door service, they will share 3.000 containers for the plastic or cardboard fraction.

The city of Dénia cleans 24 hours

The goal of this new contract is for the city to remain clean throughout the day. This will be possible thanks to improvements such as the double hydro-cleaning service, the extension of hours and the installation of new sweepers.

In addition, the cleaning brigade will be expanded to also access roads, lots, ravines and clearing accompanied by new and modern machinery.

the new machinery

Undoubtedly, this new contract draws particular attention to the new vehicle fleet composed almost entirely of vehicles powered by electricity or gas.

The gas trucks will now be bigger, with its own station to serve the fleet.

The auxiliary vehicles they are also electric and smaller.

Citizen involvement

If something is indisputable, it is that a contract like this will not give the best results without the correct citizen collaboration. As stressed by the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, during the press conference to present this new contract, "changing things does not depend only on those who clean, but also on those who dirty".

  1. Demi says:

As always a lot of blablabla. They have to start working as expected and not post jokes. The streets are dirty, there is no cleaning frequently except in the city center and we have to pay the highest rate. Embarrassing for the City Council of Denia.

    • Protection says:

I have come on August 8 and I have been stunned with the dirty streets and garbage not collected for days, very bad, 0 in cleanliness. I don't know what they have done with the millions that in February 2022 were going to invest in cleaning the city

  2. javi says:

WE ARE GOING TO GIVE THEM A VOTE OF CONFIDENCE AND SEE HOW THE NEXT MONTHS ARE GOING UNTIL NOW THERE ARE PLENTY OF COMMENTS BECAUSE WE ALL KNOW HOW IT IS GOING TO START FROM NOW LET'S SEE AND JUDGE THE DIFFERENT PERFORMANCES OF THE COMPANY POSTDATA DENIA IT IS NOT DIRTY THAT IF THERE ARE MANY HOUGHS WHO SAY THROW EVERYTHING THROUGH THE FLOORS BECAUSE THEY PAY TO CRY

  3. Vincent G. says:

We have the highest garbage rates and yet Denia is not known for its cleanliness.

  4. Vincent G. says:

In addition, garbage rates are among the highest in the province. Denia does not stand out for being very clean, really.

  5. Pepa says:

Blessed Urbaser with its spectacular fleet, blessed the City Council for the fantastic publicity, like a fairy tale in which Denia will be shiny and recycled «With these changes, the residents of Dénia will be able to carry out the recycling task in a simple way.» I'll believe it if the day comes when the City Council controls the three old and continuously broken ones on San José street, the dumping of glass and other non-organic matter, the restaurants on Loreto street and pza. City hall. In other words, DENIA DOES NOT RECYCLE

  6. Paloma says:

    Totally agree M Pilar,
Denia is sad! Dirt everywhere except for M d Campos…as always!
As soon as you leave that street, the garbage grows, the containers with rubbish around for days and days without being picked up. And let's not mention the debris left behind and denounced several times with the same result: ignored.
The role admits everything and it looks great but you have to act!
Stroll through Denia forgetting the center and check it out, you will be surprised!

  7. María Pilar says:

! Service loaded with News !! Less advertising and start it now! – Put the happy and “spectacular containers and collect the garbage from the streets. They repeat it, they repeat it…and for what???, in Las Marinas we are on M….24 hours a day. oh!! Mr. Mayor, the neighbors are very INVOLVED, it is you who are not involved. (Read all requests from neighbors about garbage and memory). We are ABANDONED!!
