Sunday, March 8, International Women's Day, was the date chosen for the release of the new women's raspall team from the Pilota Municipal School of the City Council of Dénia.
The exhibition game, included in the 8M commemorative program, faced Sabela, Ysabel and Patri, in red, and Sonia, Vero and Cani, in a blue shirt, who debuted in the Trinquet The Rovellet. In its first game of the season, the team (currently consisting of a total of 8 players) gathered around 150 people from the audience.
The result, 5 to 25, in favor of the blue ones.
With this initiative, the consistory has wanted to make the normalization of the presence of women in sports disciplines until a few years ago a men's monopoly and to encourage young athletes in the city to try Valencian autochthonous sport.
