The Ministry includes the Gandía-Oliva section in the new commuter investment plan

18 December 2017 - 19: 20

The Ministry of Development, which is chaired by Íñigo de la Serna, announced on Monday the investment plan for Cercanías trains until the year 2025, a document that finally reflects the first step towards the future coastal train. And it is that this plan includes the first phase of the train of the coast, which includes the duplication of the road between Cullera and Gandia and the extension of the railroad connection to Oliva.

In total, 259 million will be invested for the first phase of the coastal connection and, therefore, the extension of the C-1 line currently linking Valencia and Gandia.

After hearing this news, the president of the Generalitat, Ximo PuigHe highlighted that "The coordination and joint work of the different municipalities of the Valencian Community and the Generalitat has achieved a positive response from the Ministry of Development to 80% of the claims of the Valencian Agenda of Infrastructure, raised by the Consell to this department in 2016 ".

Thus, Puig has described the development plan as a "good symptom of the institutional articulation of the State", and has valued positively the "space of institutional loyalty and dialogue" established between the Generalitat and the central government for these improvements, something that also has highlighted the minister Íñigo de la Serna.
