Coinciding with International Women's Day, the author Teresa Juan López (Madrid, 1979) publishes 'Cantos del alma' (Algorfa publishing house), a bilingual edition, in Spanish and English, of poems that pay homage to feminine energy. In the author's voice, "it is a vision that extols the learning of women as mothers of the earth, as eyelashes that travel and love, and are loved, learn to live in solitude, who feel or are capable of turning their pain in light”.
'Cantos del alma' praises the union between different artistic genres, inviting the reader to participate in a
journey of sensations “The verse gains movement when the eyes are closed, and it is heard. when the words
they reverberate and become images. They are the words behind the words. The images that reside in the background of each verse”, affirms Teresa Juan López.
And he adds: “As I proposed in my previous work “Poemas de las cinco” (Ed. Algorfa 2020), the poems of
"Cantos del alma" have been conceived as an opportunity to connect with our creative capacity. They are a plea to inspiration. To a poetry that comes to life and even goes beyond the book itself”. “Cantos del alma” is accompanied by an audiobook set to music and voiced in the studio by the author herself.
The video poems have been recorded and directed by the author, where she also dances. "Cantos del alma" will be presented at the Dénia Municipal Library next Wednesday, March 9 at 19:00 p.m. as a poetry recital with dance, music and video poetry.
