The II Forum 'Dénia. Arròs a banda & A banda de l'arròs' will honor the women of our gastronomy

Dénia will boast cuisine next December with the second edition of the Forum Denia Arròs a banda & A banda de l'arròs which will give prominence to an essential product in the Mediterranean diet.

It will be on Tuesday, December 2 when this forum is held, which, as in the last edition, aims to keep alive the memory of the arroz a banda contest that was held years ago in the capital of the Marina Alta, as the mayoress has recalled, Ana Kringe, And the president of Aehtma, Cristina Sellés.

In the 10 in the morning, and after receipt of the attendees, will begin the first round table under the title "Rice, the basis of our cuisine, in the field of the Mediterranean diet". On this occasion it will be moderated by Juan Llantada, technical specialist in the Tourism Promotion and Communication area of ​​the Valencian Tourism Agency, and will feature the participation of Giuseppe Russolillo, president of the Spanish Foundation of Dieticians-Nutritionists; Pascual Martí, director of the Public Health Center Dénia and some expert in biotechnology from the university field.

To complete this journey, at 13: 30 hours a tribute will be held the woman in gastronomy and tourism, which is to recognize the work of women in this area. To reinforce this tribute, the CDT will host until the end of the year, an exhibition of images of important women in Dianense cuisine.

This day, organized jointly with Aehtma, wants to highlight the relevant role of our gastronomy in tourism since, according to Ana Kringe, mayor and councilor for tourism, "It is a manifestation of our culture and our identity". From the tourism department they are betting on gastronomic tourism thanks to a kitchen, the Dianense, which combines the traditional indigenous innovation in the kitchen.

Gastronomic week

As happened last year, this forum is complemented by the Gastronomic Week l'arròs a banda which will take place at 1 7 December and which have confirmed their participation thirty restaurants in town. During these days, the member establishments ofrecerña special menus designed on the occasion of the Forum, at a fixed price ranging from 15 to 25 euros.

Overlooking the November 30

This year's forum is especially important, since few days before we know if Dénia be held is finally recognized by UNESCO as a Creative City of Gastronomy. It will be on Sunday November 30 when UNESCO to publicize the name of the chosen cities.
