El hospital Comarcal Marina Salud today announced the expansion of its Hemodialysis Unit of the Nephrology Service. This extension has been carried out with the purpose of being able to attend to an 25% more of patients and, to do so 6.700 more sessions per year.
The new ward now has 20 posts in which 120 weekly patients with renal pathology can be treated.
From 72 in 2009 to 120 in 2014
In 2009, the Hemodialysis Room had 12 positions, with which weekly patients could be attended to by 72. Last year it was expanded by three additional posts, up to a total of 15 and it was possible to treat up to 90 weekly patients and 12.000 per year.
20 now the positions are added to the peritoneal dialysis treatments, which began to be offered in the spring of 2011 and 2013 that have been dialysing until 12 patients simultaneously.
