The Dénia Hospital shares the safety protocol for care of pregnancies and deliveries

15 June 2020 - 15: 01

The Health Department reminds pregnant women that they must go to the health center about the security measures implemented by COVID19:

  • In the visits of follow-up of the pregnancy in the Hospital: triage will be carried out for the detection of symptoms, they will be able to go accompanied by a single person and both must wear a mask.
  • In childbirth: at the time of delivery, all pregnant women will be tested for the coronavirus. If a SARS-CoV-2 infection is confirmed in the pregnant woman, she will be transferred to a specific isolation delivery room that guarantees all the protective measures for the mother and the companion. In the event that the accompanying person has symptoms, access will be denied. Both must wear the mask at all times.
  • Hospitalization after delivery: A single accompanying person is allowed during the stay on the ward, who will access the hospital following the recommendations established in the protocol for visits and accompaniment of patients admitted to hospitals. The relay of the visitor / assistant will preferably take place outside the hospital to avoid the accumulation of people inside the building. The use of a mask and social distance is essential. Avoid staying in common spaces in the center and passing through the Hospital.
  • If the postpartum is a COVID19 patient, the accompanying person cannot leave the hospital until discharge.
