The Government suspends all non-essential work activity

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has appeared this afternoon, for the third consecutive time since the state of alarm was decreed, announcing new restrictions starting next week. Sánchez has indicated the stoppage of all non-essential activities, such as construction, from Monday, March 30 to Thursday, April 9, inclusive, which will be approved tomorrow in an extraordinary Council of Ministers.

These new measures of restrictions are given by new data on the situation of the coronavirus in which Spain accumulates 5.704 deaths, 72.248 infections, 40.630 hospitalized, 12.285 cured and 4.575 admissions in the ICU.

As for the paralysis of non-essential work, the Prime Minister has indicated that employees will have paid leave, as if on weekends, and will recover the hours when the isolation ends. During those two weeks they will continue to pay their wages, which will be borne by the companies.

The paralysis of non-essential economic activity that will be approved tomorrow in the Council of Ministers and will last until April 9 seeks to coincide with Easter, the presence of pedestrians on the street is as few as possible.
