The future of the Marques de Campo site is in the hands of the next government team

01 March 2019 - 12: 29

It has taken many years for the Marqués de Campo site on which the old ambulatory building was to be cleaned and opened to the public with full security guarantees. Now we need to know what this space will be used for, a decision that the next municipal corporation will have to make.

This was announced by the mayor of the city, Vicent Grimalt, when the councilor of GDCU, Pepa Font, asked about the next actions to be carried out in the space recovered after the cleaning and the removal of the fences. Grimalt replied that he is removing the telephone poles and burying them, something for which he has already committed himself by telephone.

Grimalt recalled that the objective of this legislature was to acquire the site and clean it up so that it stops being a danger for neighbors and visitors. The next step, its definitive use, is in the hands of the next government team. Of course, Grimalt has already expressed his desire to be decided through citizen participation.

A great opportunity to build the longed for final bus station taking advantage of the subsoil and up a large park.

Not enough space for the turning circle of the larger buses (the big problem with the one that has just been built). Also, it would cause more traffic congestion on already busy streets.
Marques de Campo is the pride of the town. Surely something iconic should be dreamed up?

I agree that the current bus station is in the wrong location - it doesn't however mean that this IS the right location.
