The director Marina de Denia, Gabriel Martínez, the sculptor, Toni Marí, the heads of the NGO The Isbjorn Collective and the presidents of the Rotary clubs of Xàbia and Dénia, Luis Santos and Ana Moya have presented the campaign "The sea starts here." In addition, the first plaque has been installed in a port, in the shape of a puffer fish and designed by Toni Marí, accompanied by the message "Don't throw anything away, the sea starts here."

“We have joined this campaign as it fits with our philosophy of making the population aware that we must take care of the sea. The slogan is very appropriate since a lot of garbage is produced from land that goes to the sea. We are doing something of extraordinary importance on such an important day as today, World Water Day ", commented Gabriel Martínez.

“We are an NGO that we are setting up in Marina de Dénia. We work to help in the sustainability of the marine environment, for this reason we have wanted to join the campaign, providing templates that can be painted and thus expand its dissemination ", said Sento Hernández, head of The Isborjn Collective.

For her part, Ana Moya explained that “Last year we started with the environment and the emblematic sunfish. We want all the scuppers in our region, both inland and on the coast, to have this campaign. Masks, butts, chewing gum, all that garbage stays there and when it rains it goes to the sea. We claim that all Marina Alta I can see the same image. In the same sense, Luis Santos, has said that “success has been to bring together civil society and city councils. We have to raise awareness and do many awareness campaigns with this message. We are worrying about the cigarette butts, the papers, which become real garbage balls that go to the sea.

Toni Marí who expressed the honor that he has to participate in this project and “That they have trusted me is a pride. Not only have coastal towns joined, we have also placed plaques in Orba or Alcalalí, inland municipalities that know how important it is to take care of the environment. If the interior suffers, so does the coast and vice versa ".
