The local team Leclercq SUP Team participated last Sunday in the II Regatta of the Mediterranean Circuit of SUP, held this time in the waters of the beach of La Patacona in Alboraya (Valencia).
The sun and a strong wind of land were the main actors of a demanding day of competition where the RIDER of the Telmo Irigoyen team had to put into practice all their technical knowledge and physical strength to overcome a race track of 5 km and 18 buoy turns (Elite Category) conditioned by a strong west wind with gusts that exceeded the 15 knots ( about 30 km / h)
Emilio Irigoyen, the RIDER local based in Marina de Denia, took the bronze in Elite Men's Master category after a bad start, later comeback and a final battle with his teammate, the Javiense Kyle Cochrane.
In category Amateur female gold and bronze for Vicky Hernandez and Rebecca Cochrane respectively. In this same category, Jan Pérez made his debut coming in fourth position. Also, in male Amateur Andy Burrows took the gold.
La RIDER of Elite category, Cristina López de San Roman, could not finish the race due to a forearm injury.
Some good results for the regional team in this SUP Mediterranean Circuit that has just started and that will end with the regatta Jávea in November.
