The Department of Health of Dénia will supply 27.800 vaccines in the campaign against influenza

This week the flu vaccination campaign has begun in the Dénia Health Department, which until January 31 will supply 27.800 doses among the population at risk throughout the region of the Marina Alta.

In total there are more than 50 points distributed throughout the region from which vaccinate the population at risk: patients 60 or more years of age with chronic diseases, pregnant women, workers of special services police, fire, civil protection, etc. .- and health professionals.

Get vaccinated against the flu

During these months two types of vaccines will be provided:

  • Vaxigrip: It is supplied in 90% of cases. It has minimal side effects, besides being highly effective
  • Optaflu: suitable and safe vaccine for people allergic to egg protein

The Department of Health Dénia has set a target to achieve vaccination coverage that exceeds 60%, in the case of people over 60 years and immunization rates among health workers get at least to 45%.

In the 2014 campaign 26.927 doses were supplied in the Marina Alta, with vaccination coverage that reached 64% in the group of over 49.38 seniors and 71.46% in health personnel, far exceeding the targets set in a 50%.
