The Dénia Health Department continues with the 'Pacient Actiu' program

The Department of Health of Dénia continues to develop the program "pacient Actiu", during this September the sessions are held every Thursday at the Social Center of El Verger. This program took place last spring in the basic area of ​​Dénia.

The "pacient Actiu"It is an initiative to support patients living with a chronic disease (cardiovascular, respiratory or chronic pain) and their families. The goal is to help deepen the understanding of their condition to manage it better and cope with its different phases.

These workshops patients are instructed to handle certain kinds of tools and are taught to develop action plans or take appropriate and timely decisions. Thus it is achieved, to identify the symptoms and problems caused by the pathology that affects them, pain management, conflict resolution, adjust your diet, increase your level of physical activity and mood control.

This program is based on the methodology of "Expert Patient", Launched by Stanford University. The model is a world reference in training for self-care.
