23 July 2018 - 15: 27

With the aim of raising awareness about the importance of preventing sun exposure during the central hours of the day, when UV rays are strongest, the Dénia Health Department begins a new campaign in the summer Auxiliary Offices located in the beaches de Marines, in Dénia; La Fosa, in Calp and El Arenal, in Xàbia.

With the collaboration of Kefus Laboratories, will give a total of 2.000 UV Tester wristbands to patients who come to the beach clinics.

The bracelets have a grape-ray meter that detects the intensity of them and changes color depending on the solar energy to which it is exposed. Through the use of the bracelet, the person wearing it knows when there is a high risk of exposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Dr. Gasent, Chief of Oncology of the Department of Health of Dénia, confirms the importance of all support and prevention systems that can reduce excessive exposure to the sun and that could trigger the appearance of cutaneous melanomas.

It seems to me very, very good initiative and a very well found idea. I love that in my hospital they always try new things and do not get stuck in what they already know ????
