Dénia is already the department with the lowest incidence of coronavirus in the entire province

February 11 from 2021 - 09: 54

Coronavirus statistics are constantly changing. Either because of the calendar full of festivities in the area or because of the ease with which we forget what we experienced in a few days, the truth is that for almost a year we have been alternating critical periods of COVID-19 with others where the impact of the pandemic is less.

We have repeated on several occasions headlines announcing that both Dénia and the Marina Alta They were among the areas with the lowest incidence of the coronavirus. In the same way, we have also insisted other times that our situation was one of the worst in the area, or even in the country. And it has never been a lie.

A pandemic as contagious as that of COVID-19 causes these situations in which one day you are very well, with hardly any people who have been infected with the disease, and after an uncontrolled outbreak everything turns abruptly. It should also be taken into account that if not many people have passed the coronavirus, there is a large part of the population susceptible to catching it.

For these and many other factors is why we once again publish that the Dénia health department, on which the entire Marina Alta depends, is in a very advantageous situation compared to the rest of the community. Not only that, but with a rate of 680,09 infections per 100.000 inhabitants, it is positioned as the department with the lowest incidence of coronavirus in the entire province of Alicante.

At the level of the Valencian Community it also remains one of those that has improved the most in recent days, having the same incidence as the department of Vinaròs and only being surpassed by that of Requena, which has a rate of 611,78.

The truth is that these are not figures to celebrate, since the objective is that the incidence does not exceed one hundred, but it is a faithful reflection of how very changing the situation is and that, therefore, we must remain alert knowing that at any time everything It can get worse. Again.

It seems absurd to me that the issue of incidence data is treated like a competition, always comparing it with other health departments. It should be pointed out that this department is privatized and the data may be manipulated. I would not be surprised by the Marina Salud company and the little control exercised by the Ministry of Health.
