Dénia is already the fourth department with the highest incidence of coronavirus

30 December 2020 - 07: 47

La Marina Alta It is once again among the regions with the highest rate of coronavirus infections. In departments, where the figures are more appreciable, that of Dénia, on which the entire region depends, is already among the 5 with the highest incidence of coronavirus in the Valencian Community.

Just a month ago, the Marina Alta had the best coronavirus data for the second semester. But a week later, with long weekends and festivities in between, they have cast a shadow over all optimism. Now, to make matters worse, it is not fair to blame the Christmas since it is still too early to know the consequences of these. Therefore, we are talking about a situation that we faced last week at Christmas events.

The cumulative incidence of the coronavirus in the Dénia health department stands at 465'82, too similar to the worst recorded during the pandemic in the region. This figure indicates the number of infections per 100.000 inhabitants of the different departments and municipalities through a mathematical formula that takes into account the total population and active cases.

In the last update of November, on the 27th of that month, the Marina Alta had an incidence of 78'61. Now this has quadrupled.

In the Valencian Community there are only 3 health departments with an incidence higher than that of the Dénia health department. These are: Vinaròs, with 498'81, Requena, with 565'17, and Xàtiva, with 656'51. Comarcas neighboring the Marina Alta have a much lower incidence, which highlights the very sensitive situation we are going through (the Gandia health department has 398'30 and the Marina Baixa 164'58).

These data, unfortunately, are expected to worsen in the following updates when the infections suffered at Christmas are added. In addition, Public Health informed the town councils of the region that, indeed, we were going through one of the hardest moments. So much so that they reported that they could not add all the cases to the latest update since PCR tests were accumulating too much since last December 24 due to an increase in requests.

Because the population is denser in Dénia, Vinaròs, Requena, Xàtiva?
Why do more tests in Dénia and the others?
Does Denia use a different laboratory than the others?
In this case, why are the Ct values different in this laboratory?
and then who do you test? I feel healthy and I don't get tested, for example.
"From a mathematical formula" to show the relationship, this is valid, I know, but they are not real numbers, are they?
Also, the numbers behind the commas are especially illuminating (irony). It makes the numbers bigger and less understandable to people who aren't so good at math. Is this on purpose?

We would like to have real information, please, instead of these topics that only scare people. We are not stupid.
