The third wave of the coronavirus has not yet reached its peak. Many experts say that the worst of the pandemic will arrive during the next two weeks, which seems to confirm each new update. Today's, corresponding to the positives detected since last Tuesday, this worrying impact of COVID is once again warned.
In the Dénia health department, on which the entire Marina Alta depends, 411 new cases of coronavirus have been registered since Tuesday. At the moment, 1.790 cases are still active in the region, which causes the accumulated incidence to rise to 1.042,27 infections per 100.000 inhabitants. In total, since March, there are already 6.357 residents of the Marina Alta who have been infected.
The number of deaths has also risen again, registering 10 more new deaths with coronavirus, 2 of them in Dénia, another 2 in Benissa, 3 in Calp, 1 in Xàbia, 1 in Pego and a last to be determined.
Dénia is once again the municipality that adds more new cases. In this update, the number of new infections rises to 119, causing the incidence to continue to rise with 1.287,77 cases. Since the start of the pandemic, the capital of the Marina Alta has registered 2.217 infections, of which 543 are still active.
The other municipalities of the Marina Alta that have added cases are: Xàbia with 87 new infections, Pego with 39, Calp 34, Benissa 19, Orba 17, Teulada 16, Pedreguer 15, Gata and Ondara with 13 each, El Verger 11, Beniarbeig and Benitatxell 5 each, Parcent 3, Vall de Laguar 2, Murla 1, and 11 to be determined population.
