The Women Center of Dénia expands its staff to 15 people

06 June 2018 - 20: 03

After the change of location, last February, of the facilities of the Center Dona Dénia, we have known the extension of the 7 staff to 15 people. It is one of the impulses that has highlighted the regional secretary of Inclusion and the Valencian Agency of Equality, Alberto Ibáñez, in his visit to Dénia on Wednesday.

In this regard, he recalled that the transfer of the Centro Mujer 24 horas (CMH24H) at the beginning of the year to a local "wider, dignified, kind and adequate", located in the Dénia Social Services building, impacts on a "considerable improvement" of attention to women victims of sexist violence and of their sons and daughters and also provides enough space for reinforcement of staff, where staff can better develop their work.

In this regard, Ibáñez has stressed the importance of these measures, since the Dénia Women's Center is the reference center for women from Dénia and the region of the Marina Alta, as well as the bordering regions of Marina Baixa, La Safor and El Comtat.

Ibáñez today presided over a conference held in Dénia to explain the measures and actions contained in the Pla Valencià d'Inclusió i Cohesió Social (Pla VICS), in which the city's mayor participated, Vicent Grimalt, The deputy mayor, Rafa Carrió, the Councilors of Social Welfare and Equality, Cristina Morera and Elisabet Cardona and representatives and technicians of Social Services of other municipalities and entities of the region.

Family Meeting Point

Ibáñez has also referred to the new Dénia Family Encounter Point (PEF), which will open at the end of the year and will provide coverage to users of the 28 municipalities of the judicial district of Dénia.

The new PEF of Dénia, has specified, will allow to distribute in a more balanced way the workload of the services and at the same time, it will offer a service of "proximity" to the public by reducing the distance that users have to travel.

As explained Alberto Ibáñez, the opening of the PEF in Dénia will involve the recruitment by the Department of Equality of nine professionals with specialized profiles, especially to address cases of gender violence, with an opening hours of 42 hours each week, both during the morning and in the afternoon.

At this time, added the Councilor for Social Welfare Dianense, Cristina Morera, are considering several locations for this new service. When the definitive one is determined, the Ajuntament de Dénia will remodel the space chosen to adapt it to the needs of the service and turn it into a "friendly place" for the users.
