On Thursday September 29 be held in Dénia a new edition of the Marathon of Blood, which meets eight years seeking donors in the capital of the region. And it comes with one goal: overcoming 184 effective donations were achieved last year and more than 200 people interested in donating. To achieve this, the Transfusion Center of Alicante has increased the means for that day. Both morning and afternoon there will be two doctors accompanied by four nurses on the morning shift and afternoon five, plus two data jacks to accelerate the process to donors.
This was confirmed by Mabel Ortiz, representative of the Transfusion Center, where they expect this year donating blood again be a success. Therefore propose to all donors go in the company of a new donor to celebrate together the "Festival of life".
And, as explained from the center, blood can not be manufactured, it is an irreplaceable good and it is highly necessary to assist in the recovery of patients admitted to our hospitals.
Marathon, to be held from 10 to 14 hours and 17 to 21 hours at the Social Center of Dénia, will have one more year with the collaboration of volunteers Red Cross Dénia, which as always has its doors open to collaborate in events of this type.
This year join the celebration of life several companies as Appliances Pineda, who will raffle gifts among those who come to donate. On the other hand, FUndació Baleària collaborates another year circumventing a trip for two to the Balearic Islands between donanetes. In addition all who come to donate will receive a t-shirt gift while stocks last.
Requirements to donate
To donate blood you must have between 18 and 65 years 50 kilos weigh more, have good health and not go to the extraction fasting. Also from the Transfusion Center encourage all people who doubt whether they can donate for any reason to approach and consult with doctors attending the collaborators in this drawing blood.
