The calendar of the new Dénia: when will the big promised urban projects come to light?

February 19 from 2023 - 00: 45

Dénia is upside down. And that there are still many works pending to begin in the City Council's plan to end that promised new city. Luckily, not all of them will coincide in time and many will be finished in the coming months.

Remodeling of the center, Glorieta and Marqués de Campo, the park on the site of the old ambulatory, the castle, the new university campus of Torrecremada and the ambitious future lung of the city: the Bosc de Diana. We have heard a lot about all these initiatives but after suffering delays and the division of projects, by surprise, in different phases, the calendar has been distorted. For this reason, we are going to review the situation in which these projects find themselves and the last announced dates on which they are expected to be completed.

Plaza Valgamedios

For the second time in a short time, the popularly known as Plaza Oeste is under construction. The project for the pedestrianization of a large part of this neighborhood was presented for the first time in 2017, but the work did not begin until much later, and the aforementioned square was left halfway. It was left half finished until at the end of 2022 they decided to resume the project.

It is a particularly delicate point in view of the celebration of the Fallas since one of the largest monuments is planted in that place, and it seems that for the second year it will have to be placed in a half square.

Finish date: Spring 2023

Glorieta del País Valencià

Perhaps the most present work in Dénia. Or at least until the neighbors of Marqués de Campo have started. It is one of the most ambitious projects of the legislature, assuming the definitive pedestrianization of the place with a major remodeling. A new face for the emblematic place, which it will have a square format instead of what until recently was a roundabout.

Finish date: Verano 2023

Marqués de Campo

They are the most recent works in Dénia, which have disrupted the normality of the center. Of course, by going in phases, the place has not been completely paralyzed. They are not as large as the other projects mentioned, as they were expected to adapt the street to an architecture more in line with pedestrianization (as well as Glorieta), but its location is the most tricky. In fact, they will have to avoid the different festive celebrations, such as Fallas and the Mig Any of Moors and Christians, pausing work so as not to hinder the festivities. This, in turn, causes them to dilate.

Finish date: Verano 2023

Castle

The main monument of the city once again faces major works with which to recover corners that have been closed or hidden for too long for the public. It is a very delicate reform, since we are talking about a building of enormous historical value that must be treated with care. The Verger Baix will soon be full of visitors again, as will the Torre del Galliner, finally offering a new access to the castle from Baix la Mar.

Finish date: Verano 2023

Torrecremada

Work on the Torrecremada building is advancing at a breakneck pace. The future Dénia university campus, which will host hundreds of students in the not too distant future, will be able to see the light this year. In fact, it is expected that for the 2024-2025 academic year, classes will already be held on site.

Finish date: Fall 2023

Site of the former outpatient

Was presented the winning park project in style after some phases of the contest quite mediatic at the local level. It was in December 2021. Since then little has been known about this work that generated so many expectations. According to the City Council, the supply problem derived from the crisis has been the main cause of the delay of the park. Although there have been materials for other works. Be that as it may, the tender is underway and is expected to be finished next year.

Finish date: 2024

Bosc Diana

Another of the great, and eternal, promises. What will be the main green lung of Dénia, the Bosc de Diana, is still in its first phase. The idea is to extend the current park beyond the Camí Sant Joan, occupying the plots between the road and the Joan Fuster pavilion. A huge garden and a few minutes from downtown. However, it will still remain a dream for a long time.

Finish date: Beyond 2024

The Valencian country does not exist. Glorieta of a lifetime!

  2. Pere says:

And the N lo in the center are right: do and undo and go around again to spend money. While other areas like the Marines completely abandoned. Here the City Council only appears to collect their fat taxes from us

    • Lucas says:

The only good option is the forest, the rest is very big nonsense, the worst thing is that even the people showing their discontent with these actions continue to carry them out

    • marijke says:

      correcto
very dangerous sidewalks with huge stairwells by restaurant area and huge untrimmed banana trees, weeds growing everywhere. of shame

  3. Rafaela Cobo says:

Hello good afternoon and the frigate street for when we have been 10 years old and the street is unpaved what a shame I pay taxes nothing more than the money for the center.

  4. Daniel González says:

The marinas if that for another day, from Burger King onwards all the Marinas and adjacent streets are worth seeing, scrapped roads, lack of sewage, no lighting, zero cleaning services, etc, etc.
Of course, the streets are built in the center and undone to redo every little bit, for they only pay taxes, very, very high by the way.

    • Ivan says:

      Denia is a disaster.
1 Fix once for all the streets and not destroy them later by putting plumbing or electricity cables.
2 Make at least one two-lane highway connect to 322 and the Hwy.
3 Build a promenade to protect Las Marinas from rainstorms
4 Fix all the streets of Mongo and make at least one exit and entry way so as not to block the entire city during school and nursery hours.
In the background of these problems, the rest of the problems that Denia has seems insignificant.
      No need to thank me.
You can vote for me to the next injuries.

  5. Bill says:

While streets are being cleaned up in some areas, in others, like the entire coastline, homes are CONFISCATED and their owners are expelled from their homes. That is the double face of measuring the City Council. That is the Justice of the Mayor.

    • Ignacio says:

Bullo, explained like this, it seems that they are throwing people out of their homes when that is not true. Most of these properties are tourist for speculative purposes, many of them remain closed throughout the year. Confiscate? Where? Don't spread hoaxes.

      • Lucas says:

The only good option is the forest, the rest is very big nonsense, the worst thing is that even the people showing their discontent with these actions continue to carry them out

    • Pere says:

As far as I know they have not yet expropriated a single house, which they should have done many years ago because they were built illegally. But politicians do not have flats to say h ……

  6. Pillar says:

Everything for the center of Dénia, gentlemen! THE MARINAS EXIST!!, People live here who fulfill their obligations but we also have rights; we need lights, asphalt, and of course both municipal and national police presence, they only show up for coffee... I repeat!! ABANDONED AND SECOND, THIRD CITIZENS...!!!! Banana Rebublic

  7. Lluis says:

The new Raquel Payá fell from the budgets?
