The ordinary plenary session of the Dénia City Council that was held this Thursday, corresponding to the month of September, approved by a majority the proposal of the government team presented as an emergency by which they are suspended, in a precautionary and preventive way during the next year, licensing for the opening of bars, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs in the Les Roques neighborhood.
As explained Councilwoman planning, MªJosep Ripoll, this measure is taken in order to get a residential and quiet, this neighborhood as they want the neighbors, who will work together in developing a special action plan the neighborhood. This license suspension for one year, renewable for one year only affect licensing activities under the law of shows, such as bars, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs, businesses that are considered incompatible with a quiet neighborhood.
Loreto street is outside this suspension
Ripoll announced that the license suspension will affect the inner area of the neighborhood, leaving out the action Loreto street, considering that the problem of this artery is different and has to be solved in another way. This decision was widely criticized by opposition parties that voted against -PP, GDCU and Ciudadanos-, who agreed that the true problem of the neighborhood is concentrated on Loreto Street, precisely where it is not going to act.
For Pepa FontSpokesman GDCU, this is the way the local executive "shirk" and not curb where there is a real concern. The PP and Citizens, meanwhile, criticized the way it was presented this proposal, emergency back without time to generate debate among neighbors.
