The City Council receives a new grant to hire 17 unemployed as a result of the health crisis

The City Council of Dénia has obtained during 2020 the amount of 475.253,87 euros in subsidies from Labora for the hiring of different groups of unemployed people. The latest aid granted is 250.000 euros and is part of Labora's ECOVID 2020 program aimed at hiring unemployed people as a result of the situation derived from COVID-19 who are at least 30 years old.

With this grant, the City Council of Dénia will hire a total of 17 people for a period of 7 months. The actions developed by the people hired through this program must be aimed at preventing, containing, alleviating or mitigating the effects of COVID-19.

Another of the aid received from Labora corresponds to the EMERGE program for hiring unemployed people to carry out actions provided for in the emergency plans or procedures in the forest field. The City Council of Dénia has received here 104.822,61 euros with which 8 unemployed people have been hired for 6 months.

Dénia has also benefited from the aid of the EMCORP program with a subsidy of 120.431,26 euros with which 7 people, with a minimum age of 30 years, have been employed for a period of 7 months.

These subsidies are in addition to the investment of 300.000 euros that the city council has made in the First Municipal Employment Plan, through which 22 unemployed people have been hired for a period of 6 months.
In total, we are talking about 775.253,87 euros of aid from which your total of 54 unemployed people in our municipality have benefited.

The amount of the subsidies is used to finance the salary costs of full-time personnel, including their contribution to Social Security.

The objective pursued by the city council when managing these programs is twofold. On the one hand, provide economic income and accredited experience to those hired who receive their salary and training like any other worker. And, on the other hand, to strengthen public services that are offered to all citizens, assigning those hired to the municipal departments most in need of a reinforcement of personnel in these post-pandemic times.

All the referred programs are requested, managed and justified by the Creama Dénia agency, with which municipal departments such as the Citizen Attention Office (OAC), Human Resources and the different areas to which the hired staff.
