The City Council receives a donation of two portraits and a piano by Tenor Cortis

28 October 2011 - 13: 51

The story of one of Dénia's most illustrious characters, the Tenor Cortis, revives these days. The Baltrushevich family, which currently resides in the Finca La Campanera, where the tenor lived, has donated a piano to the municipality of Dénia Chassaigne Frères which he belonged to Antonio Cortis and two portraits showing the tenor with the clothes of two different operas, one by himself and another by the author José Drudis-Biada.

The official donation ceremony took place in the Municipal House of Culture, where donations will be exposed indefinitely, and has counted with the presence of donors, Basily and Natalia Baltrushevich, and the daughter and granddaughters of the tenor.

From the department of culture we have been very grateful for the unexpected donation, and considering the possibility of preparing Guided visits to the farm once it is fully restored, as well as a contest of lyrical song that has as such mythical setting place in the life of tenor.
