The Vall de Laguar City Council presents the first edition of the Cavall Verd literary awards

27 July 2020 - 10: 21

“Consolidate a prestigious literary event from the Vall de Laguar and at the same time make the verdict of the prizes known in an outstanding event in the framework of October 9, with all the symbolism of the chosen date and celebration”. With these words, the Councilor for Culture of the Vall de Laguar City Council, Óscar Soria, has defined the first edition of the Cavall Verd Awards for Storytelling and Poetry: an initiative that will award the best works presented in each category with € 600 and which will be selected by a prestigious jury in the field. The works will be sent by email to the following address: predliterariscavallverd@outlook.com and the deadline to participate ends on September 7, 2020. It should be mentioned that the complete rules can be consulted on Facebook and at the Valley City Council Electronic Office from Laguar and also soon to the MACMA website.

And it is that the Cultural Commonwealth of the Marina Alta collaborates technically in an initiative that broadens and gives prestige to the literary map of the region, as summarized by the manager of the MACMA, Jovi Seser, when congratulating the Vall de Laguar City Council on the initiative.

As for the thickness of the bases of the call, it is necessary to highlight points such as the fact that the works have to be presented in Valencian and that the works have to be entirely unpublished, as the Councilor for Culture had when explaining some awards that also They intend to spread the cultural and natural heritage of the Vall de Laguar. Not in vain, the choice of the name of the prize responds to such purpose. The Cavall Verd is not only, next to the Barranc de l'infern, the mountain by which the Vall is identified, but it is a historical and landscape emblem that leads a pioneering project such as the literary awards: an initiative to spread and to promote the Vall de Laguar as a cultural reference within the whole of our linguistic territory.
