The City Council of Dénia has put out to tender the contract for cleaning municipal buildings and public schools with a duration of two years and an amount of 2,7 million euros, 300.000,00 euros more than the previous contract.
The new specifications have received contributions from the municipal group Ciudadanos, especially in the section on cleaning in public schools, where new obligations have been implemented that have not been carried out to date, such as cleaning all the furniture in the classrooms. , not only tables and chairs, the daily scrubbing of the classrooms, the cleaning and bagging of toys, or the continuation of the cleaning service in the month of July, currently teaching with make-up exams, cloisters, etc ...
Susana Mut, spokesperson for the Municipal Citizens Group in the Dénia Town Hall, has pointed out that “the previous contract had many shortcomings, especially when it comes to cleaning schools, especially in cleaning systems, and COVID has implemented new systems , which are going to stay in this new sheet ”. He has also pointed out "the importance of educational centers knowing the obligations included in the specifications for their evaluation and control, is another of the points included in the new contract, in addition to general cleaning during vacation periods, Christmas, Easter and Summer, a circumstance that did not exist today ”. These circumstances will also cause an increase in the hours allocated to each center to be carried out, hence the increase in the amount of the contract.
Estefanía Schwamb, Councilor for Citizens in the Dénia City Council, has emphasized the insistence on this issue, since the beginning of the legislature. “From the beginning we knew first-hand the deficiencies of the previous contract for cleaning public buildings and schools, and that is why we have collaborated with the government team in the drafting of the new one.
