The City Council of Dénia has convened the IV Prize for child-youth narrative in Valencian City of Dénia 2021 that it organizes with the collaboration of Andana Editorial. The deadline for submitting works is already open and will close on May 15, 2021. The bases can be consulted on the website of the Dénia City Council (www.denia.es) and Andana Editorial (www.andana.net).
All writers, whatever their nationality, who present original and unpublished works of narrative, written in Valencian and suitable for child readers (9-12 years), can participate. The extension of the works will not be less than 30 pages nor more than 70 pages DIN A4 size, written in Arial of size 12 and with double spacing.
The works will be presented at the Municipal Public Library, in calle de Sant Josep, 6 de Dénia,
in digital format, recorded on a USB or CD, in a pdf file, and also printed in triplicate, identified with the title of the work and a pseudonym and accompanied by a sealed envelope with the documentation required in the bases.
After the deadline for submitting the works, a provisional list of the titles received will be published on the website of the Dénia City Council and on that of Andana Editorial. The authors will have a period of 10 working days to present the pertinent allegations. Once these have been resolved, the final list will be published on the aforementioned websites.
The jury for the award will be made up of two representatives from the Dénia City Council, one representative from MACMA, two from Andana Editorial and a specialist in children's literature. The aspects that the members of the jury will value of all the originals presented are the literary quality, the originality and creativity, the quality and the lexical variety, the adaptation of the plot and the language to the age of the readers or the ability to create characters. that captivate interest.
The jury's verdict will be announced in October, in an act in which the winning book will also be presented, if the contest is not void, as occurred in the 2020 call.
The economic endowment of the Prize for child-youth narrative in Valencian City of Dénia 2021 is 3.000 euros. In addition, the winning work will be published by Andana Editorial.
