The City Council of Dénia will have the opposition in the team in charge of the transfer of powers of the Santa Llúcia residence

The Dénia City Council has already received the request from the Department of Inclusive Policies to appoint the five representatives, apart from the mayor's office, who will form part of the mixed commission that will work on the process of transferring powers from the municipal residence of Santa Llúcia. From the Dianense government team they have already advanced that in their plans it is possible to include in the commission a representative of the opposition political groups.

Within a period of 15 calendar days, the consistory has to name the people who will participate in the commission and will be both political and technical staff. In addition, the composition of the commission it will be joint between representatives of the Generalitat and the local entity. However, the presidency will fall to the head of the Ministry and the vice-presidency to the mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt.

This requirement and the constitution of the mixed commission are the first two steps that start the municipal residence transfer process, in compliance with Law 3/2019, of February 18, on Inclusive Social Services of the Valencian Community. This, in the first transitory provision, specifies: «The Generalitat, in accordance with the provisions of the Strategic Plan for Social Services of the Valencian Community, will promote the process of progressive transfer to the Generalitat of the secondary care infrastructures and equipment and the day care services, outpatient care and alternative accommodation for primary care, owned by local entities.

On November 30, 2020, the Dénia City Council received a letter from the Regional Secretariat for Planning and Organization of the System requesting information about the center. All within the framework of the general study of the situation of residential centers (secondary care) of municipal ownership, which the Ministry was developing to comply with the aforementioned law, and "advance in the transfer of infrastructures of regional competence".
