The City of Dénia opens the deadline for submission of proposals for participatory budgets of 2021

07 2020 April - 16: 04

The Department of Citizen Participation launches a new edition of participatory budgets, a mechanism by which citizens propose and vote on the actions that they consider to be priorities for the City Council of Dénia to execute in their investment budget for 2021. The deadline for the presentation of proposals begins Tomorrow, April 8, and will end on May 31, 2020. Action proposals must be submitted electronically on the web http://participadenia.es/.

The participation system presents in this new edition an important novelty: the presentation of proposals by neighborhoods has been suppressed, since it has been verified that the requests for improvements by areas of the city are better channeled through the monthly neighborhood meetings, and the one that will have to propose and vote the citizenship will be city projects.

Among all the proposals received in the presentation period that begins tomorrow, the municipal technicians will select a total of 10, taking into account the viability and need for the city. Those 10 proposals are the ones that will be submitted to the vote of the citizens, during the month of September, to prioritize them. Once the list is arranged by number of votes, actions will be carried out to complete the total budget allocated for 2021, which amounts to 300.000 euros.

In this fourth edition of 2021, the budget item has increased by 50.000 compared to this year. This increase responds, according to the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Pepe Doménech, to the municipal government's commitment to increase the allocation of these budgets by 25% each year.
