The City Council announces the first contest of stories and stories for the elderly

February 11 from 2020 - 16: 02

The Department of Policies of the Major has convened the 1st contest of short stories and stories for older people with the aim of "promoting reading and creativity", in the words of the area councilor, Elisabet Cardona.

This first edition is launched experimentally for people over 60 who are students of the Classrooms of the Third Age of Dénia or members of the Home of the Retiree of the city. If the call arouses the interest of older people who have no relationship with either the Classrooms or the Retiree Home, the council will expand the spectrum of participants in the next edition to include them, Cardona said.

The theme of the works is free and can be written in Spanish or Valencian. The maximum length of the writings will be four sheets, written on a single-sided computer in 12-point Arial font.

The works submitted to the contest must be submitted to the Office of the Mayor located in the Social Center, between February 17 and May 8, 2020.

The rules establish three awards: a first, valued at 150 euros and sponsored by Carrefour; the second, with a value of 100 euros and sponsored by Radio Dénia Ser, and a third consisting of the free annual registration for two workshops of the Classrooms of the Third Age of the 2020/2021 course.

The name of the winners will be made public at an event that will be held on June 5, at 18 pm, in the Social Center's leisure room. Next, the prizes will be released.

    Hello, good afternoon.
A shame not to participate. I am not in the Classrooms or in the Home.
I already participated in the III Short Story Contest, with an age range from 10 to añoss.
I hope that in the next edition you will open the fan to all the "older ones".
    Best regards and much success.
