04 October 2019 - 12: 41

The City Council of Dénia will launch this October the participatory process Living environments for citizens to evaluate the quality of the spaces where they live, work, relate or age, "Environments that have an important effect on your health and well-being", as announced by the Councilor for Health, Cristina Morera.

The evaluation tool Living environments It consists of a set of 14 questions on various thematic areas: displacement, public transport, traffic and parking, streets and spaces, natural spaces, leisure and entertainment, facilities and services, work and local economy, housing, social relations, positive identity and feeling of belonging, security, care and maintenance and sense of influence and sense of control.

The questionnaire will be worked on in the workshops that, from the end of this month, will be held with different groups - youth, seniors, people with functional diversity ... - and with individuals who want to participate in the initiative.

The responses obtained will identify strengths and weaknesses of the environment, draw conclusions and establish priority areas of action. The conclusions of the process will be made public during a public and festive event planned for the month of December.

The Councilor for Health has appealed to the neighbors of Dénia “So that they participate and help us by contributing their observations and suggestions, so that, among all of us, we make the city a healthier environment and with a better quality of life, that really adapts to the needs and aspirations of its inhabitants”.

Interested persons can register in the Portelles Participation Space (Pare Pere Street, 17) and in meetings with neighborhood councilors. Online registration will also be enabled in the next few days.

The action Living environments It is subsidized by the General Directorate of Public Health and Addictions as part of aid to health promotion projects and access to health services and programs in populations that live in a situation of special vulnerability (DOCV of 18 of September of 2019).

Dénia, as a member of XarxaSalut, the network of municipalities adhered to the IV Health Plan of the Valencian Community, has acquired the commitment to develop the local health promotion actions framed in the Plan. The Life Environments assessment tool responds to this commitment and is in tune, on the other hand, with the implementation of assessment tools for the environments to address health and well-being that European countries such as the United Kingdom, Holland, Germany and , more recently, Spain.
