The Mediterranean Gastronomy Center is closer to being a reality. This week, the city council has approved its adhesion to the collaboration agreement with the University of Alicante for the development of the center, which will be based in Dénia.
This agreement supposes that the city council will contribute the necessary spaces for the location of the university center, that provisionally will be installed in the avenue Joan Fuster, 44. Likewise, it will make an annual contribution of 50.000 euros, which will be used to cover the operating expenses of the center.
The Center of Gastronomy of the Mediterrani UA-Dénia is a center of the University of Alicante, non-profit, which aims to carry out training activities, research and knowledge transfer, and university extension, related to gastronomy , and train highly qualified professionals to develop their professional career responding to the demand of the sector.
With its entry into operation, the Center will integrate the activities of the university headquarters of Dénia, located in the same building.
The first of the activities of the new Center for Gastronomy of the Mediterrani UA-Dénia will be the celebration of the master's degree in rice and Mediterranean haute cuisine planned for next September. Also, from the course 2019 / 2020, the Degree of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts of the UA will be taught in the city of Dénia.
