The City Council announces measures against the red alert

Before the Pre-alert for heavy rains and wind decreed from Sunday afternoon, January 19, the City of Dénia has adopted the following preventive measures:

Regarding citizen security

  • Closing of the Torrecremada gardens on Sunday and Monday.
  • Civil Protection Detention to serve the citizens and support the Local Police.
  • Red Cross checkpoint for homeless people (shelter and food). An assistance patrol will be made with the Local Police to locate people at risk. 
  • Signaling of conflict points due to flood risk.

On the beaches

  • A posidonia wall has been erected in the Marge Roig and the existing one in the Marineta Cassiana to stop the erosion of the strong waves. 
  • The sand retaining wall is maintained in the Llobell entrance. 
  • Clear accesses to facilitate possible evacuation actions on the Les Marines road.
  • The third shower doors have been opened to evacuate the water from the rain.

In addition, the City Council asks not to carry out sports and nautical activities from Sunday at noon and avoid walking along breakwaters and boardwalks. According to forecasts, the waves can reach 6 m high.
