5º students of primary learn about the diversity of our coasts

The municipality of Dénia, through the Department of the Environment that directs Juan Carlos SignesIt has launched a series of lectures at schools in the city for students of primary 5º learn about the richness of our coastal and marine diversity found there.

Under the title La Mar de Dénia, the conferences are given by the coordinator of the Marine and Fisheries Environmental Service (SAMIP) of the Department of Environment and Fisheries, Toni Martínez, who speak to children about typical species of our coast such as the loggerhead turtle (caretta caretta) and the threats that loom over the species, which is currently in danger of extinction, while explaining what to do in case of finding a cetacean stranded on the beach.

Children also learn to preserve the marine ecosystem and visit an exhibition of material donated by the Ministry of Environment, the Xaloc organization and the Oceanographic in Valencia in which seven information panels, a loggerhead turtle stuffed and displayed shell, among other content.
