Organized by St. Petersburg Sailing Academy, the "Optiorange" international regatta was held at the Real Club Náutico Valencia. The test that had the participation of 60 sailors from different Spanish and foreign cities, also had the presence of eleven sailors from the Optimist class of the Real Club Nautico Denia.

Of the dianenses, Eduardo Reyes, was the best to occupy the ninth place, which allowed him to hang the bronze medal in the male Sub 13 category. Carlota Gómz, Julia Martínez and Elena Colom also managed to get on the podium. Carlota Gómes was gold in Sub 13, Elena Colom was bronze Sub 13 and Julia Martinez, was bronze in Absolute Feminine.

Maksim Shaposhinikov, sailor from St. Petersburg Sailing Ac. and athlete of the Russian Optimist Team was the winner of the competition.

The meteorology of the first day allowed the fleet to make three rounds without difficulty, but on the second day things started to get complicated. The fleet was able to complete two rounds until a heavy rainstorm began to form over the city of Valencia and within minutes reached the race course, accompanied by a strong west wind, rain and gusts of up to 30 knots creating a complicated situation and forcing to the fleet to return to earth.

Finally the championship was settled with 5 full tests since the strong wind of the last day did not give option to navigate.

The competition, in which they mixed boats of Optimist A, Optimist B and boats of the Russian Team, has been a very enriching experience as well as satisfactory for all the participating team of the Real Club Nautico Dénia.
