Protected Designation of Origin Alicante just certify Bodegas Monóvar, a new entity that adds 38 its official registration.
Bodegas Monóvar, the wine group MGWines, is a new facility that is located on the road from Monóvar to Salinas on top of the hill with beautiful views of the valley Mañán and toscares opposite the former estate of the "Martínez Ruiz" ( Azorín).
It has an approximate area of about 3.000 square meters and its facilities have been reformed to produce white, rosé, red and liquor wines. But undoubtedly, one of its main features of identity is the cellar of historic Fondillones with centenary casks that houses.
With them, the winery has undertaken a task of reorganization and study to safeguard the quality of the emblematic Fondillón Alicante, from the old monoveros barrels of Poveda family, one of the historical products better assessment of the DO Alicante. It is also committed to improving the presentation and information of this wine, which has more than five centuries of history and a long reputation as a unique wine, work supervised by the DO itself within its certification activity.
The winery also has an important enoturística vocation to be able to receive visits, tastings and other activities.
For the President of CRDOP Alicante, Antonio M. Navarro, it is "a complete satisfaction always welcome a new winery and in this case, because of the importance that has always Monóvar as production center".
