World Diabetes Day

Expert Marina Health Hospital Denia tells us that our lifestyle and the environment in which we live, can help reduce the development of obesity, diabetes type 2 and its associated diseases. To prevent the disease or at least delay it, we recommend:

Maintain a normal weight for our age, sex and physical activity.

  • Perform moderate regular physical activity at least 30 minutes per day, which can be split into 3 minutes of 10 minutes.
  • Avoid drinking alcoholic beverages.
  • No Smoking
  • Make healthy eating:
  • - Eat at least three servings of vegetables every day, including leafy vegetables
    - Take three servings of fresh fruit a day.
    - Drink water, coffee or tea without sugar instead of sugary drinks.
    - Take whole grains instead of rice or white bread.
    - Choose pieces of lean white meat, poultry or fish instead of red meat.
    - Choose unsaturated fats (olive or sunflower oil) instead of saturated fats (butter, animal fat or coconut or palm oil).
