A man of 46 years and of Spanish nationality has been arrested in Ondara for being the alleged author of 7 crimes of robbery with escalo and a crime of mistreating a pet. As reported by the Civil Guard of Alicante, the detainee subtracted 250 kilos of avocados valued at 500 euros, and caused injuries to one of the dogs that protected the farm.

The ROCA Team of Calpe, dedicated to the investigation of thefts committed in the field, was aware of the theft of 50 kilos of avocados on a farm in Ondara. Who committed the crime, not only destroyed the trees when he tore off the fruits, but also gave a heavy beating to one of the dogs of the farm for annoying him while he stole. The animal ended up in the veterinarian with a ruptured fibula of the hind leg, and it took weeks to return to eating or wanting to leave his house.

After these events, the owner of the farm installed security cameras, and the same day they were installed, a middle-aged man appeared hanging around the farm with his plastic bag ready to "collect" avocados. With the image of the alleged thief, the Civil Guard began the investigations to identify the man. Some testimonies surprised to say that he had tried to sell avocados several times, and that when he did it for the second time, he sold them more expensive, claiming they were the last of the season.
