The Civil Guard has arrested in Dénia, Benidorm, Altea, Alfaz del Pi, La Nucia and Villajoyosa to 10 people, 8 men and 2 women, for being the alleged perpetrators of a plot dedicated to the crime of drug trafficking and illicit association. Other 3 people have been investigated for the same crimes.

The detained and investigated, nationals of Spain, Russia, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Norway, Serbia and Morocco, aged between 22 and 56 years, were known to reside in nearby towns, and organized to distribute the drug between the contacts that each one had.

The operation began following a search by the Altea Civil Guard in an international transport truck with an itinerary Alfaz del Pi - Norway in which a suitcase with 2,5 kilos of hashish was found.

Pyramid business

The Civil Guard began by investigating the sender, a young Spaniard of 28 years and a Dutch mother, resident in La Nucia, who spoke several languages and with a wide circle of friends. This young man took advantage of these numerous contacts and his knowledge of languages to sell drugs at retail among foreigners in his area. Even some of those contacts were provided by the mother, who did not hesitate to ask for doses for her friends.

The business expanded as well as a pyramid business, in which customers became sellers, forming new customers and creating new points of sale. So up to 13 people involved in retail drug sales by 6 different locations.

Initially, in order to obtain large quantities, it relied on third-party suppliers: a Dutchman from 47 years residing in Dénia, and a Belgian from 26 years from Villajoyosa, who camouflaged his marijuana pots among the rest of the plants in a nursery. But as the business grew, this young man wanted to level up, self-supply, and be himself a large-scale distributor.

Since then, he decided to travel to Morocco with a Moroccan friend of 22 years to get hashish, transport it, possibly, inside his body, and internationalize drug trafficking by shipping to the rest of Europe. But the Civil Guard intercepted one of these shipments, and after several months of investigation, it dismantled the whole plot.

Registration of housing

When the Civil Guard made the entry and registration in the houses, it had to do it simultaneously in the 4 houses of the most active members: two houses in Benidorm, one in Denia and another in La Nucía. If they had done otherwise, they could have contacted each other to destroy the drug before the arrival of the agents. The other four registered addresses: 2 in Alfaz del Pi, 1 in Altea, 1 in Villajoyosa and another in La Nucía, were made immediately afterwards.

In the records a total of 2 vehicles, 1 motorcycle, several telephones, electronic tablets, 1 compressed air gun, 5 grams of cocaine, 3 kilos of hashish (mostly acorns of which are inserted in the body for transport), 1,5 kilos of marijuana ready for sale, 38 marijuana plants, and a multitude of effects for the cultivation indoor.

In this operation, a total of 10 people have been arrested, and another 3 have been investigated, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of drug trafficking and another of illicit association. 11 men and 2 women, residing in different locations in Marian Baja and La Marina Alta, which has made it possible to deactivate up to 6 drug sales points in Dénia, Benidorm, Altea, La Nucía, Alfaz del Pí and Villajoyosa. After going to court, all have been released with charges.
