Agents of the Dénia National Police have arrested a 55-year-old man for painting in different parts of the city with messages extolling terrorism, against the police and the gypsy ethnic group.

A call to the room of 091 warned of some threatening graffiti made in a supermarket in Dénia, in which he made reference to a worker there. When a patrol was present at the site, this employee was interviewed, who told the agents that since January she had been suffering threats from a homeless person who came to the establishment to ask customers for money.

According to what she told the agents, the threats made by this individual had been verbal, in which he stated that he was going to kill her, her husband and her daughter at the same time that he made signs of cutting her neck.

The agents verified that several threatening graffiti had been made on the exterior wall of the supermarket referring to the police and insults towards an employee and in which an apology for terrorism was also made, all of them signed by the same person.

After this fact, the agents learned of the existence of other graffiti made in different places in the town with similar offensive messages and the same signature. Some of these graffiti had been carried out on two vans belonging to a religious community in charge of distributing food and, after interviewing one of the collaborators, she told them that a homeless person had come the day before to ask for food and when she could not attend to him, he insulted her and threatened.

The rest of the graffiti were caused on the facades of a shop and a bank in a central street in the town, all with the same similarity: threatening phrases towards the police, the gypsy ethnic group and extolling terrorism.

The agents related all these graffiti to those caused in the supermarket, reaching the conclusion that the author was the same person, who was arrested and charged with an alleged crime of serious threats and damages, which are being assessed by part of those affected.

The detainee, who apparently was undergoing psychiatric treatment, admitted to the agents that he was the author of the graffiti, and was placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court of the Guard of the same locality.
