The founders of an association for the sale of marijuana in Dénia are arrested

09 July 2018 - 09: 33

The Civil Guard has detained in Benissa four men of Spanish nationality between 32 and 36 years as creators of an association with two locations, one in Dénia and another in Benissa, for the distribution and sale of drugs, mainly marijuana.

Apparently, they rented a house in the town of Pego, in the name of a third party, where they grew 400 marijuana plants, which grew thanks to an alleged illegal enlistment of light, and at the cost of causing serious damage to the same house with the installation of all the machinery necessary for this crop. In addition, they left to owe a electricity bill close to the 5.000 euros.

During the operation 4 registered homes in Denia, Pedreguer, Beniarbeig and Pego, together with the local 2 already mentioned. They seized 12 kilos of marijuana in buds prepared for sale, 1 kilo of pollen of hashish, 300 grams of hashish and 2.000 euros in cash.

This was the first of three operations, led respectively by agents of the Civil Guard of Benissa, Calpe and Jávea, started by the complaint of the neighbors where those associations were located, which they labeled as "smoking" marijuana, which caused strong smells in the community and, in the worst case, could incite minors to consume that type of drug.

All the associations have agreed to have a similar organizational structure, in which one or several main partners pointed out the role that the rest had to fulfill, counting with distributors, local employees, fixed clients, accountants and even with electricians and gardeners for the cultivation of marijuana.

The second operation, led by agents of the Guardia Civil de Calp, culminated with the arrest, in Calp and Moraira, of 7 men (6 Spaniards and 1 of Colombia) and 2 women (1 of Spain and 1 of Morocco), between 19 and 40 years, involved in the trafficking and sale of drugs in the premises of a cannabis association calpina.

The third operation was carried out in two locations in two Jávea associations, in which, as in the previous operations, marijuana was distributed and sold.

The three operations carried out by the Civil Guard of Benissa, Calpe and Jávea, have culminated with the arrest of 17 people, 14 men and 3 women, as alleged perpetrators of the crime of drug trafficking and criminal organization. The detainees related to Benissa and Denia premises have been added, in addition, an alleged offense of defrauding electric power and another of damage caused to the house where the plantation was. After their passage to court, all have been released with charges.
