04 June 2020 - 09: 29

The Civil Guard has arrested two men in Benidorm who are alleged to be robbed inside vehicles, parked on golf courses near the AP7. So far, they have been able to attribute 9 crimes of theft, 1 robbery, 1 internet scam and 1 crime of belonging to a criminal group, although investigations indicate that the figure may rise, since their presence has been verified in 40 other fields.

On May 23, a citizen appeared at the premises of the Civil Guard of San Juan de Alicante to report that while he was playing on the La Sella golf course he suffered a robbery inside his vehicle.

Observed in detail by the security cameras, the agents in charge of the investigation realized that the authors used a frequency inhibitor to unlock the central locking of the vehicle and thus access its interior to remove the valuables.

The police instinct of these civil guards made them suspect that, just as they went to this golf course to commit the robbery, they could have acted the same way on other courses. So it was. After the practice of various efforts, they managed to locate them in nothing more and nothing less than in more than 40 golf courses in towns near the AP7 motorway, in the provinces of Malaga, Almería, Murcia, Alicante, València, Castellón, Tarragona and Barcelona. . The most surprising thing was that this tour had been done in just one week, from May 19 to 26.

This proven roaming forced investigators to rush to find them, before they left the province, as any delay would make arrest much more difficult.

The inquiries paid off and it was possible to proceed to their location four days ago in Benidorm. One of them was intercepted inside a sports store and the other on public roads, about to flee in a rental vehicle that they used to travel.

In the registration of this car, 554 euros in cash were seized and 7 items of branded clothing and a watch valued at 500 euros were recovered, 2 of the thefts and robberies investigated.

The two men, 30 and 32 years old, were arrested as alleged perpetrators of 9 theft crimes, 1 robbery with force, 1 internet scam and 1 crime of belonging to a criminal group. Both have multiple records and a prohibition on leaving the territory, for illegal acts committed with the same modus operandi.

So far, it has also been possible to clarify crimes that occurred in Pilar de la Horadada (6), Orihuela (1), Xàbia (1), Alicante (1) and in Málaga (1), all against foreign victims, although it is not ruled out that more victims and / or perpetrators appear, as the investigations progress.
