Arrested a woman of 23 years for stealing 50.000 euros in jewelry with the hug method

The Civil Guard has arrested in Calpe a woman of 23 years as alleged author of two crimes of robbery with violence and two crimes of theft committed by the method of hug. It would have stolen watches and jewelry worth more than 50.000 euros.

The facts

A German of 86 years, resident in Els Poblets (Alicante) was approached at the door of his house by a young woman of 23 years, who took him by the hand and began to kiss him. In addition to the kisses, this man noticed that the watch on his wrist was beginning to come loose: he was being robbed by the hug method.

As soon as she realized it, she tried to prevent him from stealing her 5.000 euro watch, but the young woman did not stop until she took it, but not before causing several injuries to her arm.

When agents of the Civil Guard of Calpe knew that this robbery had taken place in a nearby town, they deployed a device both to locate the alleged author, and to prevent that in this coastal municipality there was another theft of this type.

At the height of the Avenue of the Spanish Armies, the agents saw a person who fully agreed with the description of the woman of Els Poblets and proceeded to his arrest.

After making several efforts to find out if she could be involved in other robberies, it turned out that she knew of a theft inside a house in Callosa d'En Sarrià where, once again, after winning the owner's trust with caresses and hugs, she stole several jewels of the house in an oversight.

Numerous backgrounds

But the list of pending issues was not left only in this province. In the town of Artá ​​(Balearic Islands) he had also allegedly committed the theft of a watch valued at 24.000 euros with the same method. Moreover, a different identity had been created with which she was being sought by a court in Vinaroz (Castellón), as a presumptive author of a robbery with violence to an old man of a clock of 10.000 euros.

The young detainee, despite having 23 years, had a long criminal record for being allegedly involved in more than 50 thefts and robberies related to the hug method.

Once he has gone to court for two alleged crimes of theft and the other two robbery with violence, has been released on charges.
