The National Police have arrested six people who are members of a criminal organization dedicated to carrying out robberies with force in well-known fast food restaurants located throughout the province, where they mainly stole oil in industrial quantities that they later resold.
Agents of the Investigation Group of the Northern District Police Station of Alicante initiated an investigation following several complaints in which they became aware of different robberies with force committed in restaurants of two well-known fast food franchises in different towns on the Alicante coast.
The modus operandi used in all of them was always the same, they used blunt tools with which they forced the warehouse door and stole, among other effects, oil in industrial quantities that they later resold to third parties.
With all the information collected, the investigators discovered that it was a criminal group settled in the town of Villajoyosa specialized in robberies with force, being the alleged perpetrators of the robberies committed in fast food restaurants located in different parts of the province from Alicante.
The members of this organization not only stole the oil in these restaurants, but also took it from clean points and recycling sites to later resell it to individuals and companies.
Once all the members of the organization had been identified, the agents carried out an extensive device that resulted in the arrest of six people who have been charged so far with seven robberies committed in Alicante, Dénia, Gandia and Orihuela Costa.
In the searches carried out, two vehicles were intervened, which were those used by this criminal network to commit the robberies in restaurants.
The detainees of Spanish nationality, between 30 and 48 years of age, were accused of an alleged crime of robbery with force and four of them were placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction of the Guard of the town of Villajoyosa.
