The garbage collection, eco-park and street cleaning service was awarded to the company Urbaser, for € 68.228.848, by resolution of the plenary session of the Dénia City Council of October 28, 2021. Two of the companies that also participated in the tender They then filed a special appeal in contracting matters with the Central Administrative Tribunal for Contractual Resources (TACRC) against this agreement.
At the request of the TACRC, the council sent him the hiring file as well as reports from the secretary and the senior environmental technician, responsible for the processing, so that the court could study the case and make a pronouncement.
Said court has now dismissed both appeals, in its resolution of December 29, 2021, which yesterday entered by registration in the town hall.
The court's verdict also means lifting the suspension of the contracting procedure and, therefore, the contract awarded to Urbaser may be signed shortly for the service to start operating.
The new contract introduces changes and improvements with respect to the previous concession that will allow the service to be improved and that the city council has greater control over compliance with the stipulations, since it will be reviewed and updated, if pertinent, every two years.
The term of the contract is 10 years, from the date of its signature, and the company has a maximum period of 6 months to put the service into operation 100%, with all the improvements and novelties included in the new contract.
